January 16th, 2011

I am so excited about our new wools.
Misty Harbor is the perfect aged looking black, great for any background as is.
Lancaster Gold is an awesome gold with just a hint of red in it and Hannahs red is a fabulous red used as is or in combination with other reds for shading.
Karen and I both love dark backgrounds. The little rug with the rose in the center, appropriately entitled rose garden, was hooked by Karen using all our new wools, Misty Harbor, Lancaster Gold and Hannahs Red.
The rug at the bottom, entitled Christmas Past, was hooked by me with all of our new wools.

This rug was hooked by Sunnie Andress using our Dusty Charcoal as a background. Thank you Sunnie for sharing this fantastic piece with us.

The Designer Craftsmen show

The Designer Craftsman show is an awesome show.
So many fabulous artists, what an honor it is to do a show with some of the greatest Early American Crafters in America.
Ice threatened the entire day on Saturday so attendance was clearly at a minimum but all in all, it was a fun weekend.
Our neighbors were all fantastic.
Deborah Hartwick of Heartwell Desings had wonderful little pin cushions as usual and is a very sharing person along with her helper, Micky Mackie. Try saying that ten times fast.
Micky's son owns a vineyard in Virginia which we hope to tour when we do our Waterford show in the fall.
Leonard Marshark and his lovely wife Eve were on the other side with his intricately carved clocks.
Oh to be able to own one of them.
Anne and John Childs were directly across from us.
Anne does beautiful little water colored paintings and then frames them in old frames.
Very inspiring as we watched in awe as the lines gathered in her booth.
Now its time to regroup and figure out what we need to do for our next show.

Some smalls I whipped up for the Designer Craftsman show this weekend.
Hope they sell.

The sheep were hooked with Lambskin, Olde Salem Gray and Irish Chain.
The dark brown in the ram is Irish Chain dyed.
All these wools take dye phenominally.
The background is Dusty Charcoal.
