This has not been a good year for many that I know and love and hopefully it can only get better from here on out.
Several of you allready know that Karen and I are temporarily giving American Color Woolens a rest due to family health issues.
Unfortunately too much of our time is and has been devoted to care giving this year and it has become too grueling to keep up with our own families, other careers, and American Color Woolens at the same time.
We would like to thank everyone who supported us in this venture and hope that someday we will be able to offer our designs again.
I hope that all of you are able to suround yourselves with the people that you love for this Holiday season and enjoy them as they are meant to be.
With warm regards,
Karen and Jeannine.Jeanninehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02931618578900929406noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1277046634650469263.post-55541487639333553722011-03-17T05:52:00.000-07:002011-03-17T06:06:40.243-07:00Upcoming eventsKaren and I were so welcomed at our recent ATHA guild meeting, It is the new Goat Hill Guild.
They meet the first Saturday of each month at the South Branch Reformed church in Hillsborough, NJ if anyone is interested.
The officers are brand new and are trying to make a real go of it this year.
They are hoping to put on some intersting and fun classes such as our needle felting class in November.

We have both been very busy preparing for our upcoming shows.
The Hunterdon Guild of NJ and the Mennonite Heritage Center in Harleysville, Pa will be putting on a hookin on April 16th, 2011 at the Mennonite Heritage Center.
There will be vendors, classes and a great lunch for participants. You can find out more on thier sites http://www.hcrag.com/ and http://www.mhep.org/

American Color Woolens will also be holding our first ever spring open house on April 30th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Two Old Crows studio in Blairstown, NJ.
For information on directions please contact either Karen or myself jhappe@ptd.net or karen@thebluetulipwoolery.com
The shelves will be bursting with bolts of wools not to mention a wide array of hand dyed woolens and whipping yarns.
Weve both been working on some new patterns which we hope you will all enjoy.
Karen will have some punch needle kits and there are plenty of hand dyed threads to choose from.
We are also offering soy candles in cute little spring pots from Swan creek and fresh herbs for your kitchen garden among much much more.
We hope you can come and join us for a day of fun and refreshments.
We are hoping Terri Palmer of http://www.terripalmersigns.com/ will be on here with some of her beautiful pieces. Her well worn hand painted treasures on old barn wood are so coveted, I could pick several everytime I see her.
We have also been invited to do The Lancaster Home show this June 10th thru 12th at the Lancaster Convention Center in Lancaster , Pa. Find out more at thier site http://www.lancasterhistorichomeshow.com/
We hope to see all of you at one or more of these events.Jeanninehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02931618578900929406noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1277046634650469263.post-92052364981775879272011-01-26T06:39:00.000-08:002011-01-26T06:49:42.732-08:00January 26th, 2011Karen and I are so excited. We have been invited to do The Designer Craftsmen Show in Valley Forge, Pa next weekend.
It is a phenominal show with some wonderful crafters. Great shopping if you like traditional style 18th and 19th century wares.
We hope to see some of our regular friends there as well as meet some new ones.
Getting ready is always frustrating, not knowing what to bring.
For the past few years now small things are more inclined to sell with the exception of an occasional large rug.
I prefer to do larger pieces that I feel make a statement, small is definetely not my forte. Trying to wrap my brain around doing small isnt easy for me. I can do it when I focus but that usually comes around crunch time, which is now.
I started working on a needle felted bird which is looking more like something my dog had gotten hold of and played with for a while. Not pretty. Oh well, there are still a few days left.Jeanninehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02931618578900929406noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1277046634650469263.post-39094134016932027662011-01-16T06:40:00.000-08:002011-01-16T06:51:38.759-08:00January 16th, 2011I am so excited about our new wools.
Misty Harbor is the perfect aged looking black, great for any background as is.
Lancaster Gold is an awesome gold with just a hint of red in it and Hannahs red is a fabulous red used as is or in combination with other reds for shading.
Karen and I both love dark backgrounds. The little rug with the rose in the center, appropriately entitled rose garden, was hooked by Karen using all our new wools, Misty Harbor, Lancaster Gold and Hannahs Red.
The rug at the bottom, entitled Christmas Past, was hooked by me with all of our new wools.Jeanninehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02931618578900929406noreply@blogger.com1
